BROW LIFT SURGERY
Eyebrows are one of the main structures that define our facial expressions and add meaning to our faces. Due to factors such as gravity, aging, weight fluctuations, and genetic factors, eyebrows may sag downward over time due to collagen loss in the tissues. The sagging of the eyebrows, which causes a change in a person's facial expression, can lead to a tired and dull appearance. Additionally, eyebrow drooping can disrupt a person's aesthetic appearance and, when eyebrows fall onto the eyelids, can also hinder the person's quality of vision. Eyebrow lift surgery aims to lift sagging and altered eyebrows through various methods, thereby giving the individual a livelier and younger facial expression.
How is Eyebrow Lift Surgery Performed?
It is a surgical procedure performed through a small incision made within the hairy skin. There is no bleeding during the procedure. Thanks to this method, incision scars are not permanent and disappear over time. Additionally, due to less swelling, the recovery process is shorter. Eyebrow lift surgery ensures much more permanent results compared to other eyebrow lifting procedures. It can be performed under local or general anesthesia according to preference. The procedure typically takes about 2 hours.
Recovery Process After Eyebrow Lift Surgery
Recovery after eyebrow lift surgery generally goes smoothly. The patient can easily return to daily life as long as they avoid excessive effortful movements. Applying ice packs to the forehead after the operation helps reduce swelling and edema. Significant pain is not expected. Three days after the operation, the patient can take a shower carefully without straining the hair too much. Stitches are removed on average 7-10 days after the operation. Temporary numbness in the forehead area may occur after the operation, which is normal and expected during the recovery process. It is not permanent and the numbness disappears on its own within a short period. Since the stitches are made within the hair, there is no risk of scarring. Undesirable results such as hair loss do not occur after the operation.
