Buttock Augmentation
BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION
Especially in recent times, the desire of many women to have a more aesthetic and well-defined buttock has made buttock aesthetic procedures extremely popular today. Buttock augmentation covers all aesthetic procedures that can be applied to the buttocks, hips, and waist areas. The aim of buttock aesthetic surgeries is to shape and lift the buttocks, remove excess fat tissues formed in the hip area, and hollow and slim down the waist area. All surgical procedures performed for aesthetic purposes on the buttock area are also known as buttock aesthetics today. There are different application options for buttock aesthetic procedures depending on the individual's body shape and preferences. We can evaluate buttock aesthetic operations under the headings of buttock reduction, enlargement, and lifting.
How Is Buttock Augmentation Surgery Performed?
There is no ideal and single treatment method in buttock aesthetics. Treatment is determined according to the shape of the buttocks and the desired change. The most commonly used methods are liposuction application if there is excess tissue, fat grafting (fat injection) application if there is a lack of tissue and it is not advanced, and silicone prosthesis application if there is a significant lack of tissue and the buttock muscles are not prominent. If buttock enlargement or enhancement is desired, fat grafts or silicone prostheses are used.
Silicone prostheses, selected according to the length and width ratios of the buttock muscles, are used as oval, round, or drop-shaped soft prostheses. The buttock silicone used in buttock aesthetics has the same content as the silicones used in breast aesthetics but are specially designed silicone prostheses containing anatomical changes and designed for the buttocks. By making a small incision made from the coccyx, they are placed inside the buttock muscles. This way, the upper part of the buttock gains fullness, and a firm and full buttock appearance can be achieved after the operation. In cases where the buttocks are structurally excessively large, the liposuction technique, which is the fat removal method, is used to reduce and shape them. In buttocks with excessive sagging, a surgical lifting procedure can be performed. In these buttocks, excess skin and fat tissue are surgically removed, and the remaining fat tissue is shaped and lifted upwards from the inside. Then, the incision line is closed with stitches. The stitch marks will not be very prominent as they will be located exactly in line with the lower curve areas of the buttock. All procedures that can be performed in buttock aesthetics can be performed under general anesthesia. The duration of the operation may vary from person to person depending on the technique to be applied.
Recovery Process After Buttock Augmentation Surgery
- It is normal to experience pain, swelling, and edema in the first few days after buttock augmentation surgery. These can be relieved with pain relievers prescribed by the doctor.
- After the operation, a corset recommended by the doctor should be worn for at least 3 weeks and should only be removed when taking a bath. Showering can be done 5 days after the operation.
- If the operation is performed using silicone prosthesis, it is advisable for the individual to be extremely careful when sitting down or getting up after the operation. It is recommended to lie on the stomach or side.
- Sports activities should be avoided for 1 month after the operation.
Is There an Age Limit for Buttock Augmentation Surgery?
As with any aesthetic operation, the completion of the individual's body development should be awaited for buttock aesthetics. It can be performed after the age of 18-20, if there is a congenital appearance or shape disorder. However, it is not recommended to perform this operation on individuals under the age of 18 and those whose buttock development is not complete.
